Photographer and journalist Santi Carneri presents his exhibition “Carga máxima”, showcasing the project that won the 4th Photography Portfolio Competition at Fotomatón Festival. The exhibition will run from 19 September to 18 October 2026 in the auditorium hall of the Centro Cultural La Lonja in Orihuela. Through photography, Carneri turns the lift into the setting for an exploration of bodies, shared space, and the physical limits of an environment designed strictly for transit. The title “Carga máxima” (maximum load) directly reflects the spatial characteristics, inviting multiple interpretations around capacity, proximity, and coexistence. The project reflects the ongoing work of Santi Carneri, a documentary photographer and journalist dedicated to social issues, environmental concerns, and human rights. His work has appeared in international publications including The New York Times, The Guardian, BBC, Associated Press, and El País. Opening hours: Tuesday to Sunday and public holidays from 10:00 to 14:00, and Tuesday to Saturday from 16:00 to 19:00.
